Miss USA 2012, Nana Meriwether, was back on the runway - "Project Runway."
Meriwether, who grew up in Potomac, Md., was among a group of next-generation innovators who served as muses for the fashion-designer contestants on Thursday's show. Through clinics, schools and educational programs, Meriwether's nonprofit organization helps children in South Africa. Justin LeBlanc, the designer paired with her, was tasked with creating a print inspired by her work and incorporating it into a garment.
"Her passion and her love for everything really stuck out for me and I think that will translate into the garment that I'm going to make," LeBlanc said on the show.
Unfortunately, something was lost in translation. The "Project Runway" judges liked the abstract print that incorporated the sign for love, but they panned the gown.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
