Maybe she wasn't Hon material after all.
Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager and her husband, Henry Hager, vacated their Federal Hill home more than two years ago, after the power couple left Baltimore for the Big Apple.
But as long as they still owned property here -- and in particular, an "exquisite 3br-2.5ba end townhouse w/garage in federal hill, circa 1880" according to the listing on the real estate site homesnap.com -- we held out hope that the Hagers would once again succumb to the charms of Charm City.
Heck, last year we even returned a $296.40 homestead credit for 2011-2012 on a tax bill approaching $9,000 when Hager demonstrated that he had occupied the home for the required six months during the calendar year.
Now our hopes are dashed. According to the website, the 1,984-square-foot home, with its "wood floors, exposed brick, seagrass carpeting, gourmet kitchen and master bedroom suite with marble spa" went under contract on Oct. 10 for the second time this summer. The purchaser met the asking price of $474,900.
Hager bought the home for $440,000 in March, 2008, and the couple moved in the day after their May wedding. After just two-and-a-half years, they departed for Manhatttan so Jenna Bush could be closer to her job at the NBC studios, where she is a correspondent for the "Today" show.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
