Erotica writer Zane tops Maryland's list of tax scofflaws

The author of "The Heat Seekers" is now feeling the heat herself.

Kristina L. Roberts of Upper Marlboro, better known to fans as Zane, owes the state more than $340,000 in back taxes, according to Comptroller Peter Franchot.

She topped the list of 25 individual tax scofflaws released by Franchot and owed more than $100,000 more than the next person on the list. Oops.

Zane did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Her work has made the New York Times' bestseller list 26 times, according to this 2012  MediaBistro profile, and her titles include both fiction --  "Missionary No More: Purple Panties 2" -- and non-fiction manuals, including  "Dear G Spot: Straight Talk about Sex and Love."

The 47-year-old  Howard University grad is the producer of two Cinemax series "Zane's Sex Chronicles" and "Zane's The Jump Off."

She publishes her own imprint of erotica, has 670,000 fans on Facebook and more than 23,000 followers on Twitter, where she recently commented that, "Ignoring someone is way better than engaging in the ignorance."

Unfortunately, some people just can't be ignored. Like the tax man.
