It's a moment every dog dreams about and Baltimore baker Duff Goldman is going to be an integral part of it.
Uggie, the fetching Jack Russel who won hearts by stealing the show in last year's critically acclaimed movie"The Artist,"is getting his paw prints on Hollywood's walk of fame. And Goldman has the honor of making a cake for the event, which is apparently also part-retirement party for the pup.
According to the Hollywood Reporter and the Charm City Cakes Twitter feed, Goldman will create a cake that Uggie is sure to go wild for -- one in the shape of a fire hydrant.
One can only hope the pup won't find the cake too realistic.
Goldman and his bakery have certainly made their share of celebrity cakes. But even they seemed to be tickled to be baking for Uggie, who might be the one of their biggest clients on four legs.
During awards season, many called it nothing short of a scandal that Uggie got snubbed for an Oscar nomination. Even so, he was diplomatic enough to brush it off and show up at the ceremony in a dapper bow tie.
At the June 25 ceremony, Uggie will imprint his paws in front of Grauman's Chinese Theater.
Though Uggie might be retiring, he's clearly not just rolling over.
According to reports, his biography, "Uggie, My Story," will be in stores in October.
