According to Entertainment Weekly, the Baltimore native who's profile has soared since dating A-lister George Clooney, is one of five people Simon Cowell is considering for the job to replace Steve Jones.
Cowell apparently wants two people to host. As he puts it to EW, “I want to work with a boy and girl and I definitely think this is a role for two people."
E Online says Keibler has interviewed with the show's top brass but has yet to begin "formal talks."
Besides Keibler, the other names EW mentions are: Rocsi Diaz and Terrence J from BET, Mario Lopez, who now hosts "America’s Best Dance Crew," the omnipresent Khloé Kardashian and Kelly Osbourne, sportscaster Erin Andrews, radio personality Mike Catherwood, Stevie Ryan from VH1 and Katerina Graham, an actress from "Vampire Diaries."
According to EW, officials aren't expected to make an announcement about their choice for a few weeks.
If Keibler got the part, it will be her first significant television role since she was a contestant on "Dancing With the Stars." She's had a number of guest spots on other shows, most recently the TBS show "Men at Work."
