Adam Jones takes the 'Ice Bucket Challenge' for ALS research, calls on Obama, Boehner and Showalter to join

Orioles outfielder Adam Jones sure doesn't aim low.

He took part in the "Ice Bucket Challenge" to raise money for research into ALS, the debilitating and fatal disease that is often called Lou Gehrig's Disease.

You've probably seen friends posting videos of it on social media sites.  Someone who takes the challenge calls on you to participate, then you dump ice water on your head and call others to do the same.

If you are called and do not dump water on your head, you are supposed to donate to ALS research.  And most people who do go through with the challenge donate as well.

Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith tapped Jones to participate in the challenge, along with fellow Ravens Jacoby Jones and Justin Tucker.

Jones posted a video to Instagram this week showing himself being doused in water.

And when he called on others to join him, he wasn't shy.

His picks: Orioles manager Buck Showalter, Speaker of the House John Boehner and President Barack Obama.

No word yet on whether any of them have accepted.
