In a video posted to his YouTube channel Thursday evening, Ulman feigns surprise as he reads on camera the profile of VEEP star Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
Ulman deploys his staff to come up with all the things that make Columbia awesome and creates a hashtag to soothe the suburb's bruised soul: #awesomeColumbia.
"Obviously, she doesn't know the real Columbia," Ulman says of Louis-Dreyfus. "Second-best place to live in America."
So what makes Columbia so awesome?
Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Whole Foods arriving next year.
The Enchanted Forest, with a petting zoo and a giant shoe to climb. "Who doesn't like to play in a shoe?" asks Ulman.
The Robinson Nature Center.
In the words of Ulman: "Pervious pavements, storm water management techniques. You don't get that in New York City."
Wine in the Woods.
That holiday light thing, whatever its real name is.
And Ed Norton.
So there you have it folks. A healthy grocery store arriving next year. Climbable shoes. Pervious pavements. They sure know how to have a good time in Columbia.
Oh, and in response to Louis-Dreyfus' comments about her environs being like "a prison," Ulman has a little gift for the star: a card to "get out of jail free and see the real Columbia."
Pretty awesome, Columbia.
