With a theme of "O, Say Can You See," the 2014 Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Gala paid tribute to the city's celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Baltimore and "The Star-Spangled Banner." Stars were everywhere: on the invitation, tickets, and as decor in the tent outside Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
Then there were the stars of Baltimore's social set, chief among them Lainy LeBow-Sachs, event chair, and Barbara Bozzuto, BSO board chair, who were mingling under that tent. Dressed in tuxes, gowns and cocktail dresses, folks added spangle to their sparkling conversation as they enjoyed cocktails and small plates at a black-tie dinner reception before the evening's concert, conducted by Marin Alsop, BSO music director. Money raised from the $500-per-ticket event will go to BSO educational outreach programs in the city and the state.
