Left to right: Katy Nash, Joe Flacco and Charlene Seitz Holiday spirit merged with team spirit at the 2013 holiday party benefiting the Mount Washington Pediatric Hospital. At the entrance to the Four Seasons Hotel grand ballroom, a pile of unwrapped toys grew as the number of guests increased. For many, bringing those gifts for hospital patients and for local Boys and Girls Clubs was the least they could do (along with paying the price of a ticket) to have a chance of meeting Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco and teammates Marlon Brown, Gino Gradkowski and Gerrard Sheppard. "It's really a tremendous support for these kids. Seeing all these wonderful toys for the children is fun," said Sheldon Stein, the hospital's l president and CEO. Meanwhile, this was the perfect opportunity for guests to chat and pose for photos with the players. "It's unreal," said Amit Dua, federal consultant. "It's an out-of-body experience seeing them in person rather than on the TV or on the field." "It's good to get out and interact with the fans and do what we can for charity," said Ravens center Gradkowski. Ravens receiver Brown said he attended because "it's a great cause and I wanted to come out and show some love." Many guests marveled at the lack of attitude from the evening's star, who graciously posed for photos with most of the attendees. "Baltimore's lucky to have Joe as their quarterback," said Mark Packer, president of Al Packer White Marsh Ford, which put on the party. "He's a down-to-earth fellow."
