Glimpsed for the Grand Prix

Courtney Arendt, 43, is a Lutherville stay-at-home mom. So, when she joined friends at Radcliffe Jewelers in Pikesville for a meet-and-greet with Baltimore Grand Prix IndyCar driver Dario Franchitti, she decided to have some fun in her style she describes as "classic and on-trend at the same time." Arendt wore a brown animal print chiffon Sue Wong dress with stone and wooden bead embellishment on the drop-waist and the collar, which she bought at the Off Fifth outlet store in Florida. "I usually choose a little black dress for things like this. But today, I went a little crazy." She added some nude latticed leather BCBG platform pumps from Bloomingdale's and a tan crocodile patterned Steve Madden clutch from Fresh! Boutique. Her Michele watch came from Radcliffe. She has her practical side: "I try to buy things that won't go out of fashion next month -- in neutral colors." And then there's the emotional: "I can't get enough shoes, because if you're five pounds over, shoes always fit."
