Scene & Heard: Grand Prix Wine Dinner

Oenophiles toasted the start of the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="EVSPR000170" title="Grand Prix of Baltimore" href="/topic/sports/auto-racing/grand-prix-of-baltimore-EVSPR000170.topic">Baltimore Grand Prix</a> weekend with a wine dinner at <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLENT000329" title="Morton's The Steakhouse" href="/topic/lifestyle-leisure/dining-drinking/chicago-restaurants/mortons-the-steakhouse-PLENT000329.topic">Morton's The Steakhouse</a> benefiting the University of Maryland Children's Hospital and Catholic Charities.<br>

"We're mixing business with pleasure, although both [my] businesses are pretty fun," said host Kevin Buckler, Adobe Road Winery owner and founder of The Racer's Group, one of the teams in the race.<br>
<br>
The evening began with hors d'oeuvres -- like mozzarella and tomato bruschetta drizzled with a balsamic reduction -- and samples of the winery's sauvignon blanc.<br>
<br>
"This is the first of many, they tell me," said <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEBSL000477" title="Donald C. Fry" href="/topic/economy-business-finance/donald-c.-fry-PEBSL000477.topic">Donald Fry</a>, GBC president/CEO, as he sipped the aurulent liquid. In fact, four more courses would follow; each with a corresponding wine.<br>
<br>
However, that was the one part of the meal racecar driver Dion Von Moltke would be skipping.<br>
<br>
"During the season, I don't drink at all," said Moltke.<br>
<br>
His co-driver, Baltimorean Marc Bunting, wasn't making the same promise since qualifying races were still a day and a half off.<br>
<br>
"Keep an eye on me. I might have a glass," he said.<br>
