Berthe Ford describes her style as "vintage with pizzazz." We heartily agreed when we spotted the Roland Park resident at the "Alice's Wonderland Garden Party" at Evergreen House. The editor of "The Journal of the International Chinese Snuff Bottle Society" was downright jazzy in a scarlet and white viscose Emanuel Ungaro suit she'd bought in Palm Beach, Fla., red and white spectator Perry Ellis pumps from New York City, and a fire-engine red broad-brim straw hat she'd had for a while. Ford says she bought her Robert Lee Morris gold and Lucite earrings and gold pin about 20 years ago in Soho, NYC. She also found her coral and gold ring in New York. The secret to her style? "I collect everything. I collect jewelry. I collect clothes. Then, I just pull things out [of my closet] ... [I like] anything that's sort of exciting. Otherwise, I'm not interested. It's too dull."
