Glimpsed at Sondheim Awards: D.J. Armacost

D.J. Armacost, 31, likes to have as much fun with his style as he does with coming up with a name for it -- "gutter golf." When we "glimpsed" the Towson University art graduate student at the Sondheim Artscape Prize reception at the Baltimore Museum of Art, he was wearing a white cotton shirt with a burgundy and gray windowpane pattern under a gray Vittorio Rex blazer -- both of which he found at DeBois Textiles. His gray polished cotton skinny pants came from H&M, and his navy blue Sebago boat shoes from the Eastpoint Goodwill Store. He found his retro-style avocado and lemon Digi-Tek digital watch at JC Penney. He picked up the "A Rose Has No Teeth" button on his lapel at the Bruce Nauman retrospective at the Berkeley Art Museum in California. The Remington resident says the H&M purchase was a rarity for him. "I shop strictly thrift stores and online." And he definitely believes in some style guidelines. "My fashion advice to all men is get a haircut and a shave."
