At the 19th annual Culinary Extravaganza, held at the Radisson Plaza Lord Baltimore Hotel, Catherine Max, 53, proved she was a leader in style as well as substance. Not only is she president of the board of Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland -- for which the fundraiser was held -- but she was also a fashion standout in her "polished but fun" style. The Pikesville resident wore a black Trina Turk dress from Nordstrom that popped with brightly colored embroidered and beaded shoulders and black pointy-toe Impo suede heels from Nordstrom. She added more fun with some black textured Calvin Klein hose from Nordstrom. Her black fabric Judith Jack evening bag with silver handle and marcasite clasp was a vintage store discovery. Her Rolex watch and sapphire and diamond ring were gifts. Her diamond and ruby bracelet was an estate piece. And she got her diamond, emerald and platinum earrings at the Dahne & Weinstein going-out-of-business sales. "I really focus on the accessories, like shoes and handbags. And I have lots of scarves. I want to be age appropriate, but on the fun side."
