Glimpsed at Nacho Mama's: Tara Boren

Tara Boren, 29, is serious about her work as a Johns Hopkins School of Medicine scientist and Creighton University pharmacy student. But when it comes to fashion, this Homeland resident has fun with a style that's "vintage-inspired with a modern twist." Going out for dinner at Nacho Mama's in Canton, Boren started with a black long-sleeve cowl neck New York & Co. sweater, a light pink Express layered ruffle mini-skirt and black leather Corso Como ballet flats from DSW. Then she added the pop -- a pair of black and silver metallic patterned hose from, a rust suede Yonkers handbag and a bronze-y filigree stretch cuff from a shop in Nebraska, and her signature big earrings -- in this case, large teardrop-shaped earrings made from looped feathers from Target. Boren says her main goal is not to be part of the pack. "I don't want to look like anyone else, even if I buy something from [a popular store like] Express. Then I'm going to add these crazy tights or this bracelet."
