Kaliope Parthemos, 40, stepped out of her role as Baltimore's deputy mayor of economic and neighborhood development and onto a runway for the "Steps to the Cure" fashion show -- an event held at the Valley Mansion by The Larry and Lori Lickstein Foundation to raise money for breast cancer patient support. The show featured models who were all breast cancer survivors, including this recently diagnosed northeast Baltimore resident. Parthemos was a natural in a black taffeta Jovani mermaid gown from Bettina Collections that featured a beaded corset top. She says the dress fits her style which is "classic -- with clean lines -- and lots of black." She says her height determines her shopping habits. "I'll buy anything that fits. I'm 6 feet tall with a long torso, so that's not an easy thing to do."
