Glimpsed at the J. McLaughlin cocktail party: Marianne Rowan-Braun

Marianne Rowan-Braun, 58, credits much of style to daughter, Taylor Braun, who works in the fashion industry in Los Angeles. "She sends me pieces to ensure that I'm semi-pulled together, even though I'm 3,000 miles away," says the vice president of the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. The pink and black herringbone Milly skirt and Michael Kors watch that Rowan-Braun wore to the J. McLaughlin Port Discovery benefit cocktail party at the Ritz Carlton were, in fact, two of those pieces. The rest of her outfit included a black Theory turtleneck from Nordstrom, black Spanx tights, black patent leather loafer style Michael Kors pumps from zappos.com, a quartz flower necklace from a Pikesville boutique, pearl studs and bracelet from Radcliffe Jewelers, a ring she bought in Tel Aviv, Israel, and a taupe Michael Kors clutch, which was a gift. The Federal Hill resident is known for her style at work, but she still doesn't give herself much credit. "In the hospital, they call me the best dressed, only because [everyone else] has to wear scrubs and sneakers,¿ she says. ¿So, the bar isn't very high."
