Glimpsed at the Great Chefs' Dinner: Laurel Peltier

Laurel Peltier, 47, says generally she's "style challenged." But the greenlaurel.com owner says she's been working on developing a personal style that's "classic retro." As co-chair of The Family Tree's "Great Chefs' Dinner" with her husband, Tom Peltier, the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100603012800" title="Roland Park" href="/topic/us/maryland/baltimore-county/baltimore/roland-park-PLGEO100100603012800.topic">Roland Park</a> resident showed a slight '50s-'60s influence in the gold and black sleeveless dress she found at modcloth.com, over which she had layered a black bead and ribbon trimmed Boden sweater coat. Peltier added polish with black sheers, black and gray snakeskin bangles from Fresh! Boutique, diamond earrings that were a gift, and black patent crocodile pumps from the Aerosole store. "As chair, I knew I'd have to stand up all night long. So, I needed to be comfortable." In addition to taking a lot of fashion advice from friends, Peltier says she finds lots of things she likes at Modcloth. "It's youthful without being too young. I'm being more authentic [in my style], but I like fun clothes."
