Hour 17: 4-5 p.m.
4:05 p.m. -- Teri and the woman who picked her up drive by a restaurant that Teri thinks she recognizes. She asks the woman to stop the car. She says, "I've been here before. I was with someone." Teri decides to wait for the manager to arrive. The woman gives her cab fare to the hospital in case the restaurant employee can't help her.
4:08 p.m. -- Nina prepares Elizabeth and tells her to behave the way she normally does with Alexis. Palmer asks to speak with Jack. He's upset that they're putting Elizabeth in danger. Jack convinces him they need to do this and assures him that it has nothing to do with payback. Palmer tells Jack that Elizabeth's dad is one of his oldest friends and he'll hold Jack responsible if anything happens to her.
4:14 p.m. -- Kim walks to the highway and finds a pay phone. She tries to call her dad, but Tony answers the phone. She tells him the safe house was attacked and the agents are dead. She thinks her mom has been kidnapped again. Tony says if she tells him where she is, he'll send someone to come get her. She says that's what they said before and hangs up on him.
4:16 p.m. -- Tony tells Mason the safe house was hit. Mason orders Tony to track all the pay phone calls made within a five-mile radius of the safe house. Tony asks him which of them should tell Jack. Mason says they're not going to tell him yet. He says he'll tell him when the situation is under control.
Nina asks Jack if they're doing the right thing. He says he is still worried about his family. He asks her why she didn't stay to do the debriefing.
4:19 p.m. -- Kim calls Rick again and tells him she's coming to him because he's the only person who knows the people who kidnapped her mother. She says if he doesn't agree to see her she'll tell the police everything. Rick's girlfriend walks in and hears him giving out the address, then she sarcastically asks if it was another wrong number.
Keith asks Palmer how the election is going. Palmer says the exit polls looked really good. Keith apologizes about Ferragamo now that he knows Palmer was trying to protect him. He plays the tape of Carl threatening him to Palmer. Palmer asks him for the tape. Keith wants to know what he's going to do with it. Palmer asks if he trusts him and Keith hands him the tape.
4:27 p.m. -- Alexis calls Andre and tells him Palmer is staying after all. He says Elizabeth called him. Andre doesn't believe she wants to see him again after just a couple of hours. He orders Alexis to kill Elizabeth when he's done.
Jack gives Elizabeth the tracking device to plant on Alexis. He instructs her to put it in his wallet. He tells her to say, "I hope I'm not getting a cold" if she feels threatened. She thanks him for giving her a chance to redeem herself.
The restaurant employee approaches Teri and says how nice it is to see her and asks if Dr. Parsco will be joining her. She tells him she's lost her memory. He says she used to come in quite often with Dr. Parsco. He says he knows where the doctor works and offers to call him. She agrees.
Jack and Nina watch the cameras and wait. He asks her if she wants to tell him what's going on. He knows she's holding something back from him. She tells him that Teri knows about them. He asks if Nina told her it was over. She says she did, then Jack blames himself.
4:39 p.m. -- Alexis enters the hotel room. Elizabeth gets out of the elevator and knocks on the room door. Alexis takes a long time to come to the door. They embrace, but she's trying not to kiss him. He asks her if she's OK and says she seems to be tense. She says it's because the polls close in an hour. She asks him to get her a vodka and kisses him on the mouth. He goes for the vodka and she goes through his jacket for the wallet. She finds it and drops it. Then, she picks it up and puts it in her jacket. Alexis returns with her drink. He throws her down on the bed and Jack worries that he'll feel the wallet. Alexis rolls off Elizabeth and starts asking her questions about Palmer. She asks why he's so interested in the campaign and he says he's only interested in her. She starts a fight about how much time they spend in bed. Then, she says she's been in such a foul mood because she hasn't eaten all day. She asks Alexis to order something up. He gets up to get the menu and she puts the wallet back. He returns and tells Elizabeth he loves her.
Jack calls Elizabeth's phone, but she doesn't answer. She finally picks it up and hangs up. She asks Alexis to tell her he loves her again. Jack calls back. She hangs up on him again. She removes her jacket. Alexis orders a hamburger. Jack sees that Elizabeth has something in her hand. She turns around and stabs Alexis. Jack storms in and gets Elizabeth off of Alexis. The SWAT team comes in. Jack shouts at Nina to get the medics and says, "we can not let him die."
4:54 p.m. -- Kim arrives at Rick's house in the taxi. She asks the driver to wait as she goes around to a side door and knocks. Rick's girlfriend answers the door. She asks Kim who she is and what she wants. Flustered, Kim makes up a story about wanting to go through Dan's room. She says she needs money for the taxi and Rick goes to pay the fare. Kim glares at him.
4:57 p.m. -- The doctor arrives at the restaurant and asks Teri if she's OK. She asks him if he's her doctor. He says not exactly. He says they'll figure everything out and get her well again.
4:58 p.m. -- Jack is on the phone with Mason saying he misjudged Elizabeth's emotional state and that Alexis has a 50 percent chance of survival. Palmer walks in and wants to know where Elizabeth is. Jack says she's in custody. Palmer wants to know why and Jack tells him she stabbed Alexis. Palmer says she must have been defending herself and Jack says that's not what happened. Palmer storms into the room Elizabeth is in and tells her not to tell them anything until she speaks to a lawyer. Alexis' phone rings and Jack answers it. The person on the other end asks if he got the money and Jack says yes. The person tells Jack where to meet him and Jack asks how he'll know the guy. He says he'll be wearing a red baseball cap.
Hour 18: 5-6 p.m.
Jack orders all the agents in the hotel room to find the money that Alexis was going to use in his meeting. Palmer is still angry with Jack, but Jack implores him to let them do their job. Palmer relents.
Nina finds some bonds in the room. Nina wants to know how Jack is going to manage to pretend to be Alexis. She tells him she's coming with him.
Mason asks Tony if he's heard anything about Jack's family. Tony says he hasn't and asks what to tell Jack if he calls. Mason tells him to say that he's working on something else and should put Jack through to Mason. Tony gives him an unsatisfied look.
Kim and Rick are rifling through Dan's room. The girl at Rick's place, Melanie, asks what they're looking for. Kim says anything that will help her find her mom. Melanie says Dan is going to be upset when he finds out and she walks out of the room. Kim asks Rick why he didn't tell her that Dan is dead. He says he didn't want to upset her. Kim tells Rick that what they're doing is a waste of time and says she doesn't even know why she came.
5:06 p.m. -- The doctor that comes to get Teri tells her about her family and her separation from Jack. Dr. Phil Parslow says he's a good friend who wanted to be a lot more, but she was afraid to let that happen. He wants to take her to a hospital, but she knows that she doesn't want to go there. He offers to examine her where they are and she agrees.
Palmer plays the tape of Carl's threat for Sherry and Novick. Novick says it's not evidence. Palmer says he could give it to the press and Sherry says no. She tells him he needs to destroy the tape because she knows he's going to become the Democratic candidate for president and he'll bring the entire party down with him. Novick says that the tape wouldn't be a difficult item to shelve and they could use it later as currency once they're in the White House.
Jack calls Tony and asks if he has spoken to Teri. Tony says he hasn't and Jack asks him for the number to the safe house. Tony asks Mason to tell Jack what happened and tells Mason that he thinks it's wrong to keep it from Jack. Jack tells Mason what's going on. Then, Jack asks for the number to the safe house and Mason says the girls are sleeping. Jack says, "OK."
5:16 p.m. -- Jack asks Nina what else Teri said to her. Nina says, "not much" and tells Jack that it's clear that Teri really loves him. She suggests he call the safe house to see how they're doing. Jack says he tried, but was told they were sleeping. Nina tries to contact Agent Paulson, but the call doesn't go through.
Tony asks Mason for more bodies to help find Teri and Kim. Mason goes off on a rant about Nina and her relationship to Jack. He accuses her of covering for everyone who doesn't follow code and vice versa.
5:19 p.m. -- Palmer talks to Keith about the tape and asks him if he can handle being accused of a crime he didn't commit. Keith says he can. Palmer tells him its OK to be scared.
Andre tells someone he can't find Alexis. The person he's on the phone with says he can't find the women and is going to the Bauer house.
5:22 p.m. -- Kim calls some relatives and finds out that no one has heard from her mom. Melanie tells Rick that Kim has to leave because they have work to do. Kim says, "fine" and Rick asks her where she's going to go. He gives her some money and Kim spots some drug paraphernalia. Kim tells him she wishes he'd turn himself in and he says he'd be in a lot of trouble because he's on probation. Kim tells him she wishes they had met before this and they kiss.
Dan's brother walks in and asks how it went last night. Rick says, "fine." Kim says she'll be leaving now and Dan's brother stops her because he doesn't know who she is, his brother isn't there and the money isn't there. He says that no one leaves before Dan comes back.
5:30 p.m. -- Nina and Jack set up coordinates and figure out their plan. Mason calls to say that Teddy Hanlin is in charge of back-up. Jack tries to call the safe house and still can't get through. Jack runs into Teddy (the partner of the man that Jack put away). Teddy threatens him by saying he hopes the wrong person doesn't get shot.
Tony gets a call saying that someone matching Teri's description was spotted, but then disappeared. Mason tells Tony to send someone to the area.
5:32 p.m. -- The doctor examines Teri and says there is no evidence of a head injury. He says he thinks she has disassociative amnesia as the result of intense emotional trauma. Teri has a gut feeling that it would be dangerous to go to a hospital. The doctor says they need to and she says she can't. She insists that she does not want to go to the hospital. She asks him to just take her home.
Sherry sees Palmer hand an envelope to an aid, who goes into another room and puts it in a safe. Sherry goes into that room, opens the safe and takes the envelope out. She takes the tape out and closes the safe.
5:41 p.m. -- Palmer walks into the room and Sherry says she heard he had a talk with Keith. He suggests she talk to him, too, since they are both putting him in a tough place. She says he's the only one who is putting Keith in a tough place. Palmer opens the safe and sees that the tape is gone. He glares at Sherry and she smugly says she destroyed the tape. She says she knows he'll be angry, but it's for the best. He says it breaks his heart that he was right. She asks what he means and he tells her it wasn't the right tape. He says he's learned that he doesn't know his wife as well as he thought. She tells him she'll do anything, anything to protect her family. Palmer fumes.
5:45 p.m. -- Jack puts the radio on and Teddy says he is in position. Teddy has his weapon trained on Jack. Nina tells him to behave because they are working. Teddy tells Jack that his former partner's wife hanged herself. Jack says he is sorry, but that this isn't the time to discuss it. Nina asks Teddy if this can wait and Jack says when it's all over he'll be happy to tell Teddy his side of the story. Nina calls Mason and tells him Teddy is behaving improperly. Mason calls Teddy and tells him to cut it out.
5:53 p.m. -- The assassin, Jovan Myovic, goes to the Bauer house and hears a car pull up. An agent checks the perimeter. The doctor drives Teri home.
5:54 p.m. -- Rick tells Kim he's not going to tell Dan's brother, Frank, that Dan is dead. Kim yells at Rick, saying he is better than this entire situation. She finds out that the plan was to take last night's $20,000 and use it to buy Ecstasy.
Jack sees the man in the red baseball cap and stops him. The man asks Jack if he is Alexis and Jack says, "yes." The man says they were supposed to meet inside the restaurant. Jack says they're doing it this way instead and says they need to go over the plan again. The man in the cap says they'll shut down the power on a grid for five minutes at 7:30 p.m. The man is suspicious because Jack doesn't have an accent. He runs away.
Teddy says he has a shot. Jack insists that he not shoot. Teddy shoots. The man falls off a balcony and Jack calls for a medic.
Palmer gives the tape to someone to take care of.
Teri and the doctor show up at her house. The agent is dead in the bushes.
Hour 19: 6-7 p.m.
Teri and Dr. Phil Parslow walk around the Bauer house. They enter and the alarm goes off. Teri can't remember the code to turn it off. Jovan Myovic nervously runs around the outside of the house. Security calls and asks for the password.
Nina finds out that the guy in the red cap was Alan Morgan and he worked for Pacific Electric.
Police show up at the house and turn off the alarm. They ask Teri for her ID and she says she'll go look in her purse. The officer sees photos of her and says the ID won't be necessary. He goes outside to check the alarm contacts and says it should take him about 15 minutes.
6:05 p.m. -- Jovan watches the officers.
Mason arrives at Jack's location and admonishes him for more dead bodies. Palmer calls Jack and says that he has an address in Saugus. Jack says that should help. Jack calls Tony and asks him to check the address. It's right in the middle of 26 GG (the grid in which the power was supposed to be turned off). Mason asks Jack where he's going. Jack says he's going to Saugus and tells him why. Mason says he's going with him because he's Jack's chaperone.
Dan's brother Frank is nervous and storms out of the room. Kim decides she should leave, but Melanie won't let her because she's worried Kim will go to the police. Melanie says Kim's not going anywhere until Dan comes back. Kim says Dan isn't coming back and Rick tells Frank the truth. He says they don't have the money because Gaines never paid them.
6:14 p.m. -- The Palmers have dinner in silence. Then, Sherry wants to know what David is going to say at the press conference. Keith says he's going to tell the truth. Sherry yells at Keith, saying he's already caused enough problems in the family. Palmer yells at her and she yells at Keith for thinking it's more important to ease his conscience than to do what is best for the country. She says she never realized it before, but he is his father's son. Nicole starts to hyperventilate and has a seizure. Sherry calls for a doctor and Palmer picks Nicole up. She comes to and apologizes to Palmer, saying this is all her fault.
6:18 p.m. -- Nina calls Jack to say the address in Saugus is a wildlife preserve. Jack says that doesn't make sense because Saugus is all industrial. Nina asks who is with Jack and he tells her Mason is there. Jack tells Mason it's the second anniversary of Victor Drazen's death. Jack apologizes to Mason for shooting him with a tranquilizer, but says he feels better knowing his family is safe. Mason makes a face and Jack notices.
Teri walks around her house looking at and picking up objects. She asks Dr. Parslow if he ever met Kim. He says he hasn't. She asks him why Jack left. He tells her she asked him to leave because he was too removed and there was no connection anymore. Jack asked to move back in and she let him. Teri tells the doctor that he makes her feel safe.
Kim tells Rick she can't stay because she needs to find her mom. She starts to sneak out when someone pounds on the door. It's a guy with a bag of guns, which Frank is going to use to rob the dealers.
6:27 p.m. -- Nicole says she's fine. Palmer says he's going downstairs now. Before he leaves he tells his family that if "we love and support each other, nothing else will matter." Sherry goes to him and compliments his tie. Palmer walks out to go downstairs.
6:29 p.m. -- Teri is still looking at her belongings when the doorbell rings. Dr. Parslow goes to answer it. It's his friend Chris, whom he asked to come over and protect Teri. She sees his gun and panics, insisting he leave. Dr. Parslow says they need him and suggests maybe it was Teri's husband who roughed her up.
Drazen phones Jovan and asks him what's going on. Jovan tells him the wife is there, but not the daughter. Drazen asks him what he's waiting for and the assassin says there's some interference.
6:33 p.m. -- Palmer tells the press that his announcement is for his family.
6:38 p.m. -- Palmer tells the press about the tape and says he has given it to the Justice Department and the men supporting his campaign will be implicated. He also says that Keith is prepared to turn himself in and that Nicole is a victim, not a source of information.
Nina finds out the safe house was hit and gets upset. Tony tells her to relax. She wants to know why he didn't tell her. Tony says Mason told him not to. She says Jack needs to know. Nina calls Mason and asks if he's told Jack yet. He pretends to have a different conversation with her, so Jack won't understand what's going on. Mason asks Jack if he can borrow his phone and he turns it off so Nina can't get through to Jack.
6:42 p.m. -- Jack tells Mason that Victor Drazen was Milosevic's shadow and masterminded the ethnic cleansing in Eastern Europe. Jack tells Mason that they are seeking revenge because his unit killed Drazen. He says they must have created a cell and Mason admits it would have to be a pretty powerful cell to infiltrate the CTU and get to Jamey.
Jack finds a power generator.
The drug dealer arrives and Frank answers the door. The dealer asks everyone a lot of questions, then shows Frank the drugs. He asks where the money is and Frank pulls a gun on him, but the dealer pulls one on Frank. Eventually, everyone drops his gun and Frank walks over and pistol-whips Rick, blaming him for Dan's death.
6:51 p.m. -- Nina checks the hospitals for Teri and Kim. Tony says he sent Williams to the Bauer house, but he'll call and check on him. He tells Nina he's doing everything he can and she says, "Are you?"
The drug dealer asks Frank what's going to happen now. He says he'll kill him if he ever sees him again. The dealer tells Frank he has the right to remain silent and officers swarm into the house from every entrance. Someone grabs Kim and she says she didn't do anything.
Palmer tells the press that he is fully responsible for not knowing about the incident and asks how he's supposed to lead a nation if he can't manage his family. Then he says, "I made a mistake, but I'm not the first person in public office to make one."
6:55 p.m. -- Keith tells Palmer he loves him and they hug.
Teri and Dr. Parslow are still looking at her pictures. Chris walks in and asks where the bathroom is, then Jovan comes in and shoots both men. He asks Teri where her daughter is and she says she doesn't know. He gets ready to shoot her when he is shot twice in the back. Tony tells Teri to step away from the body. She starts to remember something about the car.
Nicole hugs Palmer and Sherry walks by him without saying a word.
A helicopter flies over the nature reserve and Jack says, "Someone knows we're here."
Hour 20: 7-8 p.m.
Mason and Jack continue to search the reserve. Mason thinks they're wasting their time. He gets a call that tells him Alexis Drazen is out of surgery. Jack tells him to go ahead and leave, but Jack insists that he wants to stay there until 7:20 p.m. to see what's going to happen. Mason says he doesn't have time to argue with Jack and leaves.
Teri is hysterical and Tony tries to comfort her. Tony tells her that Kim is alive. Teri wants to know where Kim is and Tony says he doesn't know. She tells Tony that they need to find her. They put Dr. Phil Parslow in the car. Tony calls Nina and tells her what happened. He says Teri has someone with her and it seems like a good friend. Nina tells Tony to take Teri to the clinic.
Kim is at the police station and tells an officer she needs to talk to someone. He says that's what everyone says. Rick tells Kim to tell them everything and he'll back it up. She agrees.
7:08 p.m. -- Palmer walks in to a room in which Nicole is resting. He asks her how she feels. She replies, "Relieved. Living with a secret is harder than I thought." Palmer says they need to stick together to get through it. They hug and Sherry walks in. She apologizes for interrupting their celebration. She tells him he just gave his concession speech. He tells her that remains to be seen. She says she's telling him the truth and he says she isn't qualified to tell him the truth. She tells him it's all over and he asks if she means the campaign or their relationship. She doesn't answer.
Jack continues to search the reserve. He jumps over a fence and finds a stairway leading down, underground. Andre Drazen and other men on walkie-talkies see him and wonder what he's doing there. A hidden door opens, alarms sound, lights flash and Jack is shot with a taser dart.
7:16 p.m. -- Jack wakes up in a bed and throws up into a pan. Mark DeSalvo (special guest star Lou Diamond Phillips) of the Department of Defense tells Jack he's in a top-level prison facility and wants to know what Jack is doing there. Jack tells him the power is supposed to go out at 7:20 p.m. DeSalvo says a prisoner is being delivered by chopper, but he doesn't know who because it's classified. Jack tells him he needs to call for backup. DeSalvo tells him he has three guards, a maintenance man and a technician, and Jack says they need to make it look like they are all guards.
The Drazens prepare for the prisoner's arrival. Jack instructs the civilians on how to convincingly hold their weapons.
The chopper gets ready to land. Drazen is waiting for the lights to go out. Jack is shouting orders. Andre Drazen is angry that the lights are still on, but wants to move anyway. The guy in charge of the operation tells him they need to stand down because there are twice as many guards as they thought and the lights are still on. Andre reluctantly agrees with him. They stand down.
7:27 p.m. -- Kim is lead into the interrogation room. The officer tells her to sit down. She tells him who her father is. He says he just wants information on Frank. She tells the officer what happened and he says Melanie was right, that Kim does have an active imagination. He says he is going to put her back in the holding cell. She begs him to take Jack's phone number and call CTU.
Jack asks DeSalvo to let him question the prisoner. DeSalvo refuses.
7:37 p.m. -- Palmer is watching the news and learns that his support is actually increasing in some places. Jack is on the phone. He tells Palmer that he's at a prison that doesn't exist and he's trying to find out who a prisoner is who also doesn't exist. Palmer says he'll do what he can.
Jack wanders around the facility until he finds the control room. He checks the video monitors and tries to get a view of the prisoner. It's Victor Drazen (special guest star Dennis Hopper), the man he killed two years ago.
7:43 p.m. -- DeSalvo wants to know Jack's connection to the prisoner. Jack tells him about the mission. He says the Drazens want revenge. DeSalvo says he'll make another call.
Andre still wants to cut the power. He says they should assume that Alexis is dead. He says they need to get their father out of jail.
Mason walks into CTU and Nina wants to know where Jack is. He tells her and she accuses him of not telling Jack about his family. She wants to know what he's doing and he admonishes her for questioning him, saying he doesn't need to answer to his subordinates.
7:46 p.m. -- Sherry acts happy at the celebration party. Palmer wants to know what Sherry meant earlier. He says she doesn't want him and she says that's nonsense. Palmer tells her he doesn't trust her anymore and if he can't trust her how can he love her. She says, "Well David, you may not love me, but you will never leave me." Then she orders him to come out and greet the people who have worked so hard to put "us" in office. "Us?," he asks. She warns him that she'll be right there with him when he's sworn in in January.
7:54 p.m. -- Kim approaches a cell full of hard-core women.
7:55 p.m. -- DeSalvo wants to know why Drazen is there if he is the target. Jack says that the government wanted the rest of the world to think that he's dead. He figures out that his mission was set up to fail from the start and that's why all his operatives were killed. DeSalvo's phone rings. The Department of Defense says Jack can have five minutes with Drazen.
Jack walks in and introduces himself to Victor. Jack tells him that he saw him die and that he was told the building was empty when Victor entered it. Jack begs him to leave his family out of this. He says Victor already lost his wife and daughter, he shouldn't have to lose his sons, too. Victor says his sons are soldiers. Jack loses his temper. DeSalvo rushes in and says they'll move Victor. Jack makes him get up. As they walk, the power goes out and Victor says, "They are here."
