Hour 17: 4-5 p.m.
4:08 p.m. -- Nina prepares Elizabeth and tells her to behave the way she normally does with Alexis. Palmer asks to speak with Jack. He's upset that they're putting Elizabeth in danger. Jack convinces him they need to do this and assures him that it has nothing to do with payback. Palmer tells Jack that Elizabeth's dad is one of his oldest friends and he'll hold Jack responsible if anything happens to her.
4:14 p.m. -- Kim walks to the highway and finds a pay phone. She tries to call her dad, but Tony answers the phone. She tells him the safe house was attacked and the agents are dead. She thinks her mom has been kidnapped again. Tony says if she tells him where she is, he'll send someone to come get her. She says that's what they said before and hangs up on him.
4:16 p.m. -- Tony tells Mason the safe house was hit. Mason orders Tony to track all the pay phone calls made within a five-mile radius of the safe house. Tony asks him which of them should tell Jack. Mason says they're not going to tell him yet. He says he'll tell him when the situation is under control.
Nina asks Jack if they're doing the right thing. He says he is still worried about his family. He asks her why she didn't stay to do the debriefing.
4:19 p.m. -- Kim calls Rick again and tells him she's coming to him because he's the only person who knows the people who kidnapped her mother. She says if he doesn't agree to see her she'll tell the police everything. Rick's girlfriend walks in and hears him giving out the address, then she sarcastically asks if it was another wrong number.
Keith asks Palmer how the election is going. Palmer says the exit polls looked really good. Keith apologizes about Ferragamo now that he knows Palmer was trying to protect him. He plays the tape of Carl threatening him to Palmer. Palmer asks him for the tape. Keith wants to know what he's going to do with it. Palmer asks if he trusts him and Keith hands him the tape.
4:27 p.m. -- Alexis calls Andre and tells him Palmer is staying after all. He says Elizabeth called him. Andre doesn't believe she wants to see him again after just a couple of hours. He orders Alexis to kill Elizabeth when he's done.
Jack gives Elizabeth the tracking device to plant on Alexis. He instructs her to put it in his wallet. He tells her to say, "I hope I'm not getting a cold" if she feels threatened. She thanks him for giving her a chance to redeem herself.
The restaurant employee approaches Teri and says how nice it is to see her and asks if Dr. Parsco will be joining her. She tells him she's lost her memory. He says she used to come in quite often with Dr. Parsco. He says he knows where the doctor works and offers to call him. She agrees.
Jack and Nina watch the cameras and wait. He asks her if she wants to tell him what's going on. He knows she's holding something back from him. She tells him that Teri knows about them. He asks if Nina told her it was over. She says she did, then Jack blames himself.
4:39 p.m. -- Alexis enters the hotel room. Elizabeth gets out of the elevator and knocks on the room door. Alexis takes a long time to come to the door. They embrace, but she's trying not to kiss him. He asks her if she's OK and says she seems to be tense. She says it's because the polls close in an hour. She asks him to get her a vodka and kisses him on the mouth. He goes for the vodka and she goes through his jacket for the wallet. She finds it and drops it. Then, she picks it up and puts it in her jacket. Alexis returns with her drink. He throws her down on the bed and Jack worries that he'll feel the wallet. Alexis rolls off Elizabeth and starts asking her questions about Palmer. She asks why he's so interested in the campaign and he says he's only interested in her. She starts a fight about how much time they spend in bed. Then, she says she's been in such a foul mood because she hasn't eaten all day. She asks Alexis to order something up. He gets up to get the menu and she puts the wallet back. He returns and tells Elizabeth he loves her.
Jack calls Elizabeth's phone, but she doesn't answer. She finally picks it up and hangs up. She asks Alexis to tell her he loves her again. Jack calls back. She hangs up on him again. She removes her jacket. Alexis orders a hamburger. Jack sees that Elizabeth has something in her hand. She turns around and stabs Alexis. Jack storms in and gets Elizabeth off of Alexis. The SWAT team comes in. Jack shouts at Nina to get the medics and says, "we can not let him die."
4:54 p.m. -- Kim arrives at Rick's house in the taxi. She asks the driver to wait as she goes around to a side door and knocks. Rick's girlfriend answers the door. She asks Kim who she is and what she wants. Flustered, Kim makes up a story about wanting to go through Dan's room. She says she needs money for the taxi and Rick goes to pay the fare. Kim glares at him.
4:57 p.m. -- The doctor arrives at the restaurant and asks Teri if she's OK. She asks him if he's her doctor. He says not exactly. He says they'll figure everything out and get her well again.
4:58 p.m. -- Jack is on the phone with Mason saying he misjudged Elizabeth's emotional state and that Alexis has a 50 percent chance of survival. Palmer walks in and wants to know where Elizabeth is. Jack says she's in custody. Palmer wants to know why and Jack tells him she stabbed Alexis. Palmer says she must have been defending herself and Jack says that's not what happened. Palmer storms into the room Elizabeth is in and tells her not to tell them anything until she speaks to a lawyer. Alexis' phone rings and Jack answers it. The person on the other end asks if he got the money and Jack says yes. The person tells Jack where to meet him and Jack asks how he'll know the guy. He says he'll be wearing a red baseball cap.
