Opened in 1965, The Store Ltd. is one of the few original shops in The Village and is the only one that occupies its original (although larger) space.
Co-owned by William Steinmetz and internationally-known, award-winning jewelry designer Betty Cooke, the store specializes in sleek, modern gifts and housewares that reflect good design concepts. In addition to the simple, architectural, museum-level jewelry designed by Cooke, there is also an impressive collection of designer clothing, with an emphasis on unusual textures and fibers, and imported glassware.
The variety and price range offer something for everyone. If you're looking for a baby shower gift, there are Manhattan Toy Company stuffed animals.
This is also a great place to go for bridal shower or engagement party gifts.
