Local fans, especially, can look forward to several former Howard County standouts who are excelling at the next level.
One example is Wake Forest rising redshirt sophomore Michael Campanaro, a former two-time player of the year while at River Hill (2008).
The article, written by Richard Cirminiello, refers to Campanaro, a 5-10 190 pound receiver, as the offense’s “Unsung star on the rise” and describes him as “Tough and extremely fast.”
In Campanaro’s debut campaign last year, he caught 10 passes for 107 yards, carried the ball 29 times for 123 yards and a touchdown and led the Demon Deacons in kick returns.
