In the final weekend of the Prince-Mont Swim League season, Russett and West Arundel placed second in their divisional meets July 23, while Laurel City battled tough to earn a third-place finish in Division F.

Silver Spring (Division A) and Montpelier (Division C) each placed fifth in their divisions, while West Laurel placed sixth in Division B.

Swimmers who placed first in their divisional competition received an automatic bid to compete in the league's all-star meet July 30 atWhitehall Pool and Tennis, in Bowie.

Despite placing second to the Roger Carter Seals, 307-258, in the divisional meet, Russett finished first in Division D standings with a perfect 5-0 regular season.

Taylor Hicks, girls 15-18 butterfly, breaststroke, individual medley; and Allison Ritter, girls 9-10 freestyle, breaststroke, back were triple winners for the Sharks. Russett team records were set by several swimmers: Madewa Adeyemo, boys 9-10 butterfly in 19.72; Everett Butler, boys 13-14 butterfly in 33.19 and backstroke in 37.80; Dominic Kazzi, boys U-8 breaststroke in 26.76; Alex Cartron, boys 15-18 backstroke in 31.38; and the mixed U-8 relay team of Kazzi, Erin Devine, Imaad Syed and Tomisin Sobande in 1:28.50.

West Arundel, which finished its season 3-2 in Division C, earned 197 points in the divisional meet to place second to Kingfish Swim Club, of Mitchellville, which earned 328.5 points.

Andria Moyer, girls 15-18 butterfly and IM; and Kellianne Venit, girls 15-18 freestyle and backstroke, were double winners for the Aqua Ducks.

Montpelier finished its season 1-4 and fifth place in Division C, and placed fifth out of six teams in the divisional meet, earning 158.5 points to outpace Cheverly Swim Team by 2.5 points.

Swimming in yards, not meters, Thomas de Coulston, boys U-12 butterfly, backstroke, IM was a triple winner for Montpelier, finishing the season with a perfect record of 18 wins in 18 races in the league. Dylan Buehler, boys 13-14 butterfly, IM was the only double winner.

Silver Spring Swim Team finished with an 0-5 record in Division A but was able to finish fifth out of six teams this weekend, only 70 points behind division winners Theresa Banks Swim Club, of Seat Pleasant. Silver Spring moved up to Division A after finishing 5-0 in Division B in 2010.

While West Laurel Swim Team finished the season with its best record since 2007 at 2-3, the team finished last in the Division B meet, earning only 142 points.

Finishing third with a 3-2 record in Division F, Laurel City completed its season with a third-place finish in the divisional meet with 214 points.

Eanna Hehir-Keys, girls 11-12 butterfly, breaststroke, IM was a triple winner for the Kingfish, also finishing her league season with a perfect record of 17 wins in 17 races.
