A new indoor swim team, Patuxent Aquatics Club, has started training at Fairland Aquatics Center, 13950 Old Gunpowder Road, in West Laurel, and is looking for swimmers.

The Patuxent Aquatics Club, a registered USA Swimming (USAS) team, will compete within Potomac Valley Swimming in a season that runs from mid-October through the end of March.

The team is open to swimmers ages 5 to 18 and is divided into three groups or levels. Swimmers must join USAS as an athlete to participate.

Three levels of swimmers include:

Level 1: Swimmers ages 8 and under; should swim two to three times per week or five to six practices every two weeks.

Level 2: Swimmers ages 9 and 10; should swim three practices per week or a minimum of seven practices every two weeks.

Level 3: Swimmers ages 11 and up; should practice eight times every two weeks and attend at least one dry-land training session every week.
