Baltimore Walking Club is sponsoring a volksmarch Dec. 30 through historic Hampden, the light displays on 34th Street and surrounding neighborhoods and Roland Park. The event is open to the public and free without AVA credit. AVA credit is available for $3. The start point is 711 W. 40th Street at The Rotunda, near the food court between 4 and 6 p.m. A flashlight is recommended for parts of the walk and the walk must be completed by 9 p.m. There will be both 5k and 10k trails. The regular meeting of Talkin' Baseball will take place Jan. 14 at 9 a.m. at Brighton Gardens, 7110 Minstrel Way, Columbia. Bob Luke will discuss his book, "The Most Famous Woman in Baseball: Effa Manley and the Negro Leagues." Everyone is welcome.
