The AYRA baseball program is holding tryouts for its 10-U Sunday-only travel team for the Spring 2012 season. Tryouts will be held on Nov. 19 and 20 at 2 p.m. at the baseball fields at Hammond Middle School. This travel team will play in the Mid-Atlantic Baseball Association league and participated in two or three local tournaments.

Cheerleading tryouts will be held at the Maryland Marlins gym Nov. 20 from 10-noon and Nov. 21 and 22 from 6-8 p.m. Individual tryouts are offered during those times. The Marlins are adding a third Senior 5 team and they have openings on other teams.

The Centennial Boosters will hold their first Turkey Trot and Dog Walk, Sun., Nov. 27 at 9 a.m. The 5k run utilizes Centennial High School's cross country course. Dogs are welcome, but not required, on the one-mile walk around the northern and central parts of campus. The kids run will be on the track. The Draganov School of Soccer will hold a Winter Indoor 4v4 Soccer program at the Howard Community College gymnasium. The training will emphasize foot skills development. The small-sided soccer game played on a quick hard surface will help improve first touch and quick decision making under pressure. Space is limited to 18 players per age group.
