Golf

On Saturday Nov. 9, the Elkridge Travel Baseball program will host a Double Header Fundraiser at the Timbers at Troy. The day kicks off with the Hurricane Havoc Golf Tournament, which will have a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Cost per player is $99.99. Then, at 6 p.m., there will be the Hurricane Harvest, which will be $59.99 per person.

Flag football

Howard County Recreation and Parks is now accepting Winter Flag Football League registration for ages 5-13. Play 50 minutes of non-contact flag football on the indoor turf at volleyball/soccer area in Elkridge. Ages 5-6 meet Thursdays starting Dec. 12 between 5:30 and 7:30. Ages 7-9 will meet Saturdays starting Dec. 14. Ages 7-9 will meet between 10 a.m. and noon. Ages 9-13 will meet between noon and 3 p.m. Program starts with a three-week instructional clinic. Games begin the week of Jan. 12, 2014. The cost is $115 and volunteer coaches are needed. To register, call 410-313-7275 or visit howardcountymd.gov/RAP. Field Hockey

There will be a Sunday night middle school indoor league at the Meadowbrook Athletic Center for individuals interested in playing field hockey at Long Reach in the future. The game will be played anywhere between 7 and 10 p.m. between the months of December to February. Cost is $80 per person and individuals must have indoor gloves and indoor stick. Ice Hockey

The Howard County high school club teams will be holding "Friday Night Game of the Week" at the Gardens Ice House in Laurel this winter on the Patrick rink at 7:50 p.m. The 2013-14 season begins Nov. 12. All Howard County high schools have a team. Admission is free. A full schedule of the games can be found at mshl.org under "Varsity."

Running

Come out to support the Centennial High School Turkey Trot 5K on Nov. 10 at 9 a.m. All proceeds benefit the CHS Boosters. The 5K walk/run will take place on the school's cross country course. There will also be a 1K Kids Costume Run around the track for ages 10 and under. Mascot race, raffles and goody bags will be available for all participants.
