Football

The Columbia Ravens Football will hold walk-up registration on Sat., July 21 from 9-11 a.m. at Harper's Choice Middle Schools. Players who submit all required documentation may also receive their equipment at that time. For more details, go to http://www.columbiaravens.com/.

Poms

The Ellicott City Patriots Poms recreation dance and spirit team is looking for young dancers and girls interested in building their skills and performing for the Patriots fall sporting events. Register via http://www.ecpatriots.com.

Baseball

The Savage Screaming Eagles (12-U) will continue tryouts Aug. 1 from 6-8 p.m., and Aug. 4 from 4-6 p.m. All tryouts will be held at Savage Park, 8400 Fair Street, Savage. The team will play a limited fall schedule, in the MABA spring league and a number of local tournaments as well as the Cooperstown Dream Park next summer. The Savage Boys & Girls Club 2013 travel teams are holding tryouts Aug. 12 and 19 at Savage Park as follows:

8-U: field 4, noon-3 p.m.

12-U: field 2, 3-6 p.m.

13-U: field 5, 3-6 p.m.

Atholton Youth Recreation Association fall baseball registration is open. Register by July 27 to receive an early bird discount. The season runs from Sept. 9 to Nov. 11. Chapelgate Christian Academy is holding a boys basketball camp July 30-Aug. 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Chapelgate Christian Academy, 2600 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville. This camp is for boys ages 12-17.

A second camp will be held Aug. 6-10 from 9 a.m.-noon at the First Baptist Church, 15000 First Baptist Lane, Laurel. This camp is for boys ages 10-13.

The Chenier-Wingfield Basketball Camp, with former NBA All-Star Phil Chenier, will be held at Wilde Lake High School July 23-27 and Aug. 6-10 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (before and after care is available). The county rec department is accepting team registration for its fall adult basketball leagues. Play begins the week of Sept. 13. Leagues available include men's (Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday nights), women's (Thursday night) and Co-Rec (Wednesday night). There is also a 30+ men's league on Tuesday nights. Team fee: $600 for an eight-game season plus playoffs. Register before Aug. 12 for a 5% discount. Aug. 20 is the registration deadline. Register by calling 410-313-7275.

Soccer

Cheerleading

The Maryland Marlins are holding a cheer camp July 30-Aug. 3. Cost: $140. Tumble camp will be held Aug. 20-23. Register for the camp at http://www.marylandmarlins.com.

The Marlins have positions available on their 2012-13 teams. Private tryouts are available. Join the Marlins July 25 from 6-7 p.m. for a spot on one of their 10 competition teams. Ages four and up for all levels are welcome. Call 410-796-2244 to arrange a tryout.

Softball

Terror Fastpitch will hold softball tryouts for girls age 10 and under to age 18 on Aug. 12 and 19. Tryouts will be held at Heritage Farm Park, Devilbiss Bridge Road, Walkersville, MD. The times are:

10-U and 12-U: 9–10:15 a.m.

14-U and 16-U: 10:30–11:45 a.m.

18-U: noon –1:15 p.m.

Players please bring your equipment and arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled start times to complete paperwork and warm up. Pitchers and catchers should plan on staying an additional 15 minutes.

All interested players should try to make both tryout dates but if they can only make one, please notify one of the Terror coaches. Go to http://www.terrorfastpitch.org
