Lacrosse

The Howard Boys Lacrosse program is offering two camps this summer at Howard High School. The first camp will be for grades 6-8 (July 8-11). The second camp will be for grades 2-5 (July 15-18). Call 410-313-7275 for registration or 410-313-4716 for more information.

Football

The Mt. Hebron football program is sponsoring the 2nd annual Parking Lot Extravaganza on May 18 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mt. Hebron student parking lot. The event includes a flea market, scrap iron drop off, comfort food sales and much more. New this year will be a Punt, Pass and Kick competition for boys and girls 14 and under for a cost of $5 a participant. Trophies will be awarded. Sports International will be holding a variety of youth football camps this summer at McDaniel College in Westminster. Camps include: passing and receiving academy from June 21-23; kicking, punting and long snapping from June 26-27; Lardarius Webb and Josh Morgan football camp from June 27-30; and Maryland youth football day camp from July 19-20. Booster Camps

The River Hill Boosters are sponsoring Summer Sports Camps at River Hill High School designed to help young athletes improve their fundamental athletic skills. Weekly camps begin June 24 from 9 a.m. to noon or 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Over 20 different camps are offered through a wide variety of sports. If you are looking for a fun way to introduce future players to Hammond athletics, or help your younger students gain additional skills, consider Hammond High School Boosters Sports Camps this summer. The camps target students entering grades 2-9, with programs for nearly all athletic programs. Camps are open to everyone, not just future Hammond students. Early registration ends May 31.

Softball

The Mt. Hebron Viking Backers are holding a fastpitch hitting camp for girls grades 3-8. The camp will be from June 10-14, from 5-7 p.m. at Mt. Hebron High School. For more information, call 443-520-3823 or email cstruhar@comcast.net.

Running

Atholton Elementary School will hold its third annual Panthers Pounding the Pavement 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk on June 2. The race starts at 9 a.m. and concludes with a post-race party with music, food and prizes. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to the Howard County Autism Society. Soccer

Bulldog FC, a newly formed rising Boys U12 travel soccer team, is seeking players for the 2013-2014 season. Players must have a birthdate after Aug. 1, 2001. The team will compete as a member team of the CSC. Tryouts are scheduled for May 19 at Water Tower field behind Harpers Choice Elementary and the turf fields at Cedar Lane Park from 5:45 to 7:30 p.m. Also May 20 at Clarksville Middle at the same time. The Chelsea Blue is a new U-13 Howard County boys academy travel team that will be playing in the BBSL or NCSL league in the fall. The team is currently undefeated (14-0) playing in the SAC U12 Select League and is ranked No. 9 in the state. The program is looking for six to eight players, U-11 or U-12, who are interested in helping this new team grow. Tryouts are scheduled for May 18 at 9:30 a.m. at Cedar Lane School.
