Golf outing to support Atholton athletics

Golf

The Atholton Athletic Boosters will hold their annual Golf Outing at Fairway Hills Golf Club in Columbia June 6. All proceeds will benefit student athletes at Atholton High School. The event will be a best ball, scramble format with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. The cost is $110 per golfer and includes food, two adult beverages, soft drinks, prizes and giveaways. Sports camps

The Glenelg Booster's Sports Camp 2014 is now open for registration. Football, basketball, lacrosse, wrestling, volleyball, cheerleading, field hockey, speed and agility, softball and baseball camps are available. Soccer

Registration is open for WHC Soccer's Fall 2014 season. The recreational program is open to boys and girls ages 4-18. Register by June 30 for a $20 discount. WHC Soccer will make a donation to local participating school PTAs for each registered player. For more information or to register online, go to whcsoccer.org.

The Soccer Association of Columbia is now registering players for SAC Training Academy Summer Camps throughout the summer. Players of all abilities, ages 5 to 14 years old, can take part in SAC's new professionally-run summer camp. Both full- and half-day sessions are offered. SAC also offers extended care from 4-6 p.m. for an additional fee.

The Soccer Association of Columbia is now registering players for the Fall 2014/Spring 2015 Recreation season. The league is open to players ages 6 to 18. Teams meet for eight weeks each season for practices and weekend games. Register before June 30 for a discount. SAC's Select Team tryouts will begin May 27.

Running

The Atholton High School Athletic Boosters, Lettermen Club, and Student Government are sponsoring the annual 5K Walk/Run — Stepping Out to Cure Scleroderma on Saturday, May 17, at Atholton High School. Running Brook Elementary will hold its 5th Annual 3K Fun Run on June 7, beginning at 10 a.m. Registration is $15. For more information and to receive a registration form, email mpeyton@hcpss.org.

Field hockey

Long Reach High School will host free field hockey clinics for in-district 5th-8th graders, on May 31, June 7 and June 14 from 9-11 a.m. on the Long Reach field hockey field. The Lightning boosters will also sponsor a field hockey camp for girls in 5th- 8th grade July 28 to Aug. 1, 9-11:30 a.m. at Long Reach. Cost is $120. Go to lrhsboosters.com/Camps.html.
