April 28, 8 a.m., Thunder Hill 5k and 1 mile fun run/walk at Thunder Hill Elementary School. This is a community outreach to promote health and wellness.

May 5, 9 a.m., Hope for the Homeless 5k trail race and 1 mile fun run/walk. This is a fundraiser for the Route 1 homeless shelter.

Reservoir High School will hold its sixth annual Musical Madness 5k and 1k kids' fun run on May 12 in Maple Lawn. The race starts at 8 a.m. and the post-race festival will include food and prizes from race sponsors and musical performances by Reservoir students. Join Maryland women's basketball coach Brenda Frese for the annual Miniature Golf Day, May 5, at Columbia SportsPark, 5453 Harper's Farm Road. on Saturday, May 5 at Columbia SportsPark, 5453 Harper's Farm Road, Columbia. The event, coordinated by the Rebounders — the official booster group of Maryland women's basketball, will feature a Terp-themed course, along with a moon bounce, batting cages, games, prizes, a silent auction and lunch.

Student-athletes, assistant coaches, former players, former coaches and fans, will be on hand for a day of mini-golf, food, fun and friendship. Fee: $40 (individual golfer), $120 (foursome).
