Baseball

Atholton Youth Recreation Association spring 2013 baseball registration is open. Register by Feb. 22 to receive the early bird discount. The season runs from April 1 until the end of the school year. AYRA provides a youth baseball program central to Clarksville, Columbia, Fulton, Maple Lawn, North Laurel, Savage and Simpsonville communities. Go to http://www.ayra.com for details.

Soccer

The Thunder U15 Challenge boys team, which competes in the NCSL league, is considering adding up to three more players for the upcoming season. Ideal players should be defensive minded, highly competitive and who want to use the travel soccer experience toward achieving their high school and/or collegiate soccer objectives. Thunder Soccer Club has a strong tradition of identifying, recruiting and developing talented soccer players throughout Howard and surrounding Maryland counties. Basketball

Leadership Through Athletics offers Camp Grace fundamental and shooting clinics for boys and girls ages nine to 17 on Saturdays and Mondays from April through September in Baltimore. $100 per camper per 10 or 13 week session. Scholarships

Through the generosity of three families, Special Olympics Howard County will award three scholarships to outstanding student volunteers. The Jackie Burk Memorial Award, the Allan Homes Award and the Kathy Lindner Memorial Award will be given to the outstanding high school seniors and/or college students who have been committed to the Special Olympics Howard County program as a volunteer and advocate of the athletes. The Columbia Foundation is accepting applications for The Amanda Post "AmandaWins" River Hill High School Student-Athlete Scholarship and The Amanda Post "AmandaWins" Soccer Association of Columbia/Howard County Student-Athlete Scholarship.
