Use the day off from school Feb. 18 to start preparing for the baseball season, getting some quality instruction and practice in at the President's Day Holiday Baseball Camp at PowerUP Sports and Training in Laurel. The camp goes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be run by Reservoir High School varsity baseball coach Adam Leader and his staff. The camp is open to youth, middle and high school players. Registration is being accepted for the second annual Lions' Pride Howard boys lacrosse clinic scheduled for Feb. 21, 4-5:30 p.m. at Howard High. Sign-in will begin at 3:30 p.m. near the side lot next to the tennis courts. This is a free clinic open to all Howard County residents in grades 6-8. The Ellicott City Patriots Youth Cheer and Poms (dance team) organization is looking for volunteer head coaches, assistant coaches, choreographers, stunt/tumbling coaches and dance coaches for our fall sports season. The First Tee of Howard County is having classes for new students, ages 9 years old or older by Sept. 1, 2013. These classes are for entry-level players and will be conducted in four one-hour sessions. There are two sections (Feb. 16-17 through March 9-10, or March 16-17 through April 13-14).
