On May 4, the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association announced 13 recipients of the 2012 Minds in Motion Scholarships provided by The Allstate Foundation. Each of the 13 will receive $1,000 scholarships at a luncheon held in their honor June 5 in the Ravens' team locker room at M&T Bank Stadium.
Three of the award winners are from Howard County high schools — Christina Kaminsky (Glenelg), Mark LaPointe (River Hill) and Russell Rollow (Wilde Lake).
The other winners were Evan Anderson (Hereford), Zachary Beil (Hereford), Katherine Buehner (Arundel), Joseph Cleary (Baltimore Polytechnic), Anna Davis (Parkside), Stephanie Honig (Pikesville), Danielle King (C. Milton Wright), Emily Ruppel (Loch Raven), Katherine Usiak (Urbana) and Daniel Vitelli (Northwest).
This is the fifth year for this highly competitive scholarship program, which awards $1,000 toward post-secondary education to the male and female senior student/athletes who attend an MPSSAA school and participate in MPSSAA recognized sports.
