11-13 Ellicott City Patriots Maryland State Champions
The Ellicott City Patriots defeated the Loch Raven Ravens, 8-0, at the University of Maryland's Byrd Stadium on Dec. 9 to become the Gridiron 365 Division II Maryland state champions.
Midway through the second quarter, Evan Riss scored on a 14-yard dive play off tackle before scoring the two-point conversion. Loch Raven threatened late in the quarter, driving down to the Patriots 8-yard line, setting up a first and goal. The Patriots defense shut down the Ravens' running attack on four straight downs to end the threat. Later, the defense broke up a fourth down Hail Mary pass in the last minute of the game to secure the title.
