Over 350 runners compete in Labor Day race

Running

It was a beautiful day for the 10th annual Ellicott City Labor Day Running Classic 10K & 5K (Formerly the Annual Knights of Columbus 10K Run). The race was held Aug. 31 at the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City.

Over 360 runners completed both races. Completing the difficult and challenging 10K course were 202 runners from five states and the District of Columbia. The overall winner in the men's division was David Roche in a time of 32:43. The winner in the women's division was Julia Roman-Duval of Columbia in a time of 39:00.

In the newly added 5K Road/Trail run this year, there were 162 finishers from four states and the District of Columbia. The overall winner in the men's division was Jason Hartman in a time of 16:16. The winner in the women's division was Melissa McKinley in a time of 19:44.
