Juniors Marissa Davey and Jenna Kerr both had career nights in a Marriotts Ridge 57-34 victory over host Oakland Mills on Tuesday.

Davey finished with 21 points, while Kerr added 14 for the Mustangs.

“We came off of a huge win Friday against Long Reach due mostly to our defense and tonight our offense caught up,” Marriotts Ridge coach Kristen Reier said.

After losing the team’s leading scorer Jenna Bergquist to a foot injury for the season, Davey has picked up the slack, averaging 12 points a night over the team’s last six contests.

Junior Tori Diggs finished with eight points for the Scorpions – who were limited to 11 second-half points.

“The girls' chemistry has come together so well,” Reier said. “It’s great to watch them really play as one group of five (players), instead of five individuals.”
