The Howard Community College cross country team competed at the Hood Invitational in Frederick last weekend, with the men finishing second out of 10 teams.

Andrew Parlette (sixth, 28:13) was the top finisher for the Dragons. He was followed by Filagot Dinku (ninth, 28:31), Alex Warfield (18th), and Juan Cortez (19th) also finished in the top 20.

The women's team was incomplete due to illness. Still, Anna Sandacz placed 17th in the 6k with a time of 28:24.

"This was not one of our stellar races," said coach Steve Musselman. "We knew Hagerstown would be tough; but we need to match their efforts."

The teams will travel to Hagerstown this Saturday to compete in the Region XX / MD JUCO Championships.
