Wilde Lake tasted victory for the first time this season, defeating City College, 12-6.

The Wildecats had an 8-6 halftime lead, but shut City out after that.

"Our goalie (Eolandae Brown) came up with some huge saves," said Wilde Lake coach Davia Procidia. Brown had 10 saves on the day.

Procida said her team had possession of the ball much of the second half, and when City got the ball, Wilde Lake forced a turnover and got it back.

City double-teamed Grayson Corbett, but she still scored three goals and added an assist. The defensive attention Corbett drew allowed Paige Thumel to score five goals and Carly Jones to get three.

Reservoir scored the first three goals of the second half to take a 7-5 lead over visiting River Hill. The Hawks, however, caught their rhythm en route to a 16-9 victory.

"This was one of our better games," said Reservoir coach Katie Lee. "Once River Hill pulled ahead, we got disheartened," she added.

Lee pointed out that her team is young. Twelve of its 19 players are freshmen or sophomores.
