Join the Long Reach field hockey team Saturday, Sept. 8, for the third annual Lightning Flash 5k.
The team is taking a break from its grueling preseason schedule and is organizing a 5k and mommy trot. The proceeds will benefit Grassroots of Howard County.
There is still time to get involved. The mommy trot (lap around the track for moms and young children) will kick off the event at 9 a.m. and is free of charge. The 5k starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration will be accepted up until the day of the race, however, the fee is $10 before Aug. 31 when it will increase to $15.
