The American Legion Post 300 baseball team, based out of Columbia, beat Severna Park Post 175 on Monday night, 8-7, in a game called for darkness after six innings.
Ariean Vedadi (Centennial) pitched four innings of relief for the win, and was 2-4 at the plate. The Patriots defense again played error-free baseball for the second game in a row.
Ben Koffel (Glenelg Country) hit a two-run home run, and Erik Sackandy and Garrett Kurtz (Centennial) hit back-to-back home runs on consecutive pitches. Colin Dyer (Howard) went 3-4 with three stolen bases, and Ben Goldsmith (Centennial) was 1-2 with two walks and two stolen bases. Brett Kohler (Marriotts Ridge) scored the winning run.
Post 300 is now 2-0 in Northern Central District league play and heads to the Hillbilly Hardball Classic in Elkins, WV, for at least five games this weekend.
