The Winter 2013 Hotline has been delivered to all West Laurel homes with everything you want to know about our community. Written and distributed by the West Laurel Civic Association, the Hotline is where to get all the newest West Laurel information.
The West Laurel Civic Association winter general meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the West Laurel Community Building. Cub Scout Pack 1673's presentation of colors will open the meeting. The theme of the meeting is transportation, which includes everything from the ICC to traffic calming on our own streets, and a panel of county and state speakers has been invited to address traffic and transportation issues. County Council member Mary Lehman, our neighbor and the chair of the Transportation, Housing and Environment Committee, will be among the invited panel members.
The Bond Mill Elementary Science Bowl team rocked the competition in the annual Prince George's County Public Schools Science Bowl. The Bond Mill Elementary School team will compete in the county semi-finals in April, when they face Glenarden Woods Elementary. Congratulations to team members Matthew Miller, Emily Velez, Christopher Jones and Elijah Oshinnaiye and to Kathy Jacobs who has successfully coached the bright Bulldogs team for many, many years.
Mark your calendars for Dumpster Day on April 20 at the West Laurel Community Building parking lot.
Congratulations to Christopher Brackett and Timothy Hensel for earning Eagle Scout rank in January. We are very proud of our boys from West Laurel, where we value community service.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
