A Laurel man was arrested Sunday and charged with first-degree murder while armed in connection with a July 4 shooting in Northwest Washington that left one dead and three wounded, Metropolitan Police said.

Calvin Shaw, 22, of Laurel was charged with the murder of 19-year-old Washington resident Crevontai Key in connection with an incident that occurred in the 5000 block of First Street, Northwest, Wednesday evening.

Police said members of the Metropolitan Police Department's fourth district responded to the area around 8:03 p.m. Wednesday and found three victims — two juveniles and Key — with gunshot wounds. Police said the victims were transferred to an area hospital, where Key was pronounced dead.

The two juvenile victims, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old, were admitted in serious condition. A fourth man injured in the incident, who was transported to the hospital by a family member, has been treated and released, police said.
