Although the cold weather raised its ugly head this week, everyone needs to pull out a lawn chair or sport's chair, kick back and dream about the impending spring weather. Imagine your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews running across the green grass on the fields at Brock Bridge Elementary School kicking a soccer ball and laughing with his or her friends. Imagine yourself helping to coach the team, organizing the sports or leading the cheering section and laughing and joking with the other adults. Is the scene set and fresh in your head now?
Now take five minutes to download and fill out a spring registration form for Mustangs Soccer for that special child in your picture. To download forms, go to http://www.mcrsoccer.venitsports.com. Then, stop by Brock Bridge Elementary on Monday, Feb. 4 between 7 and 8 p.m. to drop off the registration form and fee. If you can't download a form, they will be available on Monday evening as well. Registration fees for the spring season are as follows: Players returning from a Mustangs fall 2012 team pay $30 for preschool to first-graders and $50 for second- to 12th-graders; players who did not play with Mustangs soccer during the fall 2012 season pay $55 for preschool to first-graders and $100 for second- to 12th-graders. Payments may be made by cash, check, money order or debit/credit card this year. If you are unable to stop by on Monday evening, please be sure to mail or drop off the registration form and fee to Maryland City Recreation Council Soccer, 414 Forest Bridge Court, Laurel, MD 20724 by Tuesday, Feb. 5 as teams for the second- to 12th-graders must be registered with the county by the middle of the week. If you have additional questions, contact my husband, John Venit, at 301-725-7711 or email@example.com.
