Your sad story about the passing of Lance Cpl. Eugene Mills III ("Hundreds attend service for fallen Laurel Marine) is important for many reasons. His young life, and his future, stopped tragically overseas.

But what was he doing there? And what are other American military individuals doing overseas now?

They are certainly not defending Maryland, Idaho, Maine and all the other states. We have neglect here and cruel meddling abroad.

This is not new. I was alive in World War II when very wealthy Americans (and British) joined with communists to attack anti-communists.

Going way back, before 1900, America has had promoted conflicts...profits, politicians, propaganda, secrecy and media cheerleaders.

We can honor Cpl. Mills, and we should honor Cpl. Mills by honestly facing realities in today's America.
