Laurel Police are investigating a late-night assault that sent a man to a hospital for treatment after he was hit in the head with a pistol and pushed down a flight of stairs in the 9100 block of Scott Adam Court, off Bowie Road.
A man told police he was confronted by two young males, who had a black semi-automatic pistol, around 11 p.m. on Friday, July 20. He told police that they hit his head with the pistol and pushed him down a flight of stairs. Police said the two males went through the victim's pockets, taking $75 and a Cricket cellphone. County paramedics took the man to Prince George's Hospital Center, where he was treated.
On June 16, Laurel Police arrested four teens and charged them as adults with armed robbery, first degree assault and second degree assault after a robbery and assault in the same block of Scott Adam Court. In the June incident, the attackers allegedly used a knife to cut the victim's wallet from his pants pocket, and then punched him in the face multiple times.
On Monday, Laurel city spokeswoman Carreen Koubek said that police have not linked the June assault with the July 20 assault.Copyright © 2015, The Baltimore Sun
