A fire destroyed an auto body shop in Savage Sunday night, according to a news release from the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services.
Fire and rescue units responded to the shop, located in the 8100 block of Jenmar Road, around 5 p.m. after callers reported seeing a large column of smoke.

A small amount of auto repair chemicals, paints, solvents were reportedly stored in the building, but there was no release of hazardous materials as a result of the incident.
The fire was placed under control at approximately 5:35 p.m., according to the release.
