The county is installing a second left-hand turn lane on westbound Little Patuxent Parkway at the main entrance of Howard Community College.
Construction of the turn lane is scheduled to begin Monday, June 25 and last through mid-July. During construction, the existing left-hand turn lane will be closed to traffic Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Currently, the main entrance to the college on Little Patuxent Parkway is closed as the college widens the road to accommodate additional traffic. The college is still accessible via an entrance off eastbound Little Patuxent Parkway — past the main entrance — and from Hickory Ridge Road.
The new turn lane and wider entrance are expected to increase vehicle capacity and better facilitate traffic flow into the college.
