Dave and Becca Sepan
For Dave and Becca Sepan, of Columbia, the planets aligned -- well, at least figuratively. These two scientists share what Becca jokingly refers to as the "ultimate long-distance relationship." Her work at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in North Laurel is on mission operations for the new Horizons mission headed to Pluto. His work at APL entails mission operations for the Messenger mission, which recently became the first spacecraft to orbit the planet Mercury. Their work was playfully incorporated into their wedding April 28, 2007, as their cake table included a Messenger model wearing a top hat and a New Horizons model with a bridal veil.
