Main Street is finding its inner peace.
Brich’s original plan was to simply provide the shop’s patrons with information about where in the neighborhood they could practice yoga. But with most of the studios being more than a few miles away, she noticed a problem.
“People kept asking where to do yoga but didn’t want to go farther away than they had to,” says Brich.
Fortuitously, perhaps, a room right above her shop became available. And Brich’s idea of opening her own yoga studio fell into place.
“It had a lot to do with the space,” Brich says. “When the space opened up, I loved it.”
The new one-room studio, which can accommodate about 20 people, has high ceilings, hardwood floors and big windows that let in a flood of natural light.
Her vision is for the studio to be a place where anyone can do yoga, no matter what their schedule, strength or budget allows.
“We are pretty unstructured compared to most studios,” she says. “We are trying to make it more accessible.”
Gogo Guru offers a variety of classes, including those for beginners, kids and pregnant women. Some classes are fast-paced and cardio-focused, while others include guided meditation or take place when the studio is heated to 80 degrees.
Classes are available throughout the day -- the earliest starts at 8 a.m., and the latest starts at 7 p.m.
There are no membership packages to the studio. Passes can be purchased for an unlimited number of classes per month, or for a set number of classes that can be used over six months.
The downstairs shop has yoga supplies, aromatherapy items, jewelry and lounge and fitness apparel that Brich says is also good for runners and cyclists.
